One of our family favorites that we adopted that summer is grilled asparagus. Since then, I've seen recipes listed places, but I promise, this version, was my own! LOL....And since asparagus is one of the few green things my family will eat, whenever it is on sale, I buy some.
Grilled Asparagus:
1 lb fresh asparagus
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp crushed garlic paste (what you would find in the fresh produce section)
Trim asparagus. (An easy way to do this is to hold both ends of one stalk. Bend in a horseshoe shape until it snaps - use that as the cutting guide to cut the rest)

Put asparagus in a gallon sized zipper bag. Add 1 Tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp garlic. Squish bag all around until even covered.
Preheat grill. Lay asparagus ACROSS grill (if you lay it length wise, it will fall through the grill - trust me - I learned the hardway). On low heat, grill for about 2 minutes. Rotate. Grill another 2 minutes.
When asparagus is slightly showing char (about 4 minutes), turn off burner and close lid. Let sit about 5 minutes to soften more (if you have thick stalks, it might need a bit more, thin stalks a bit less).
Enjoy!!
